Obedience Classes Group classes to work with disctraction and other dog interaction, this is when
most people actually find they have problems with there dogsPrivate Obedience Lessons These are for the person who requires a one on one training session or to get
the maximum performance from their dog with a minimum of time spent. Group Structure Sessions These sessions are designed to take a small group of dog owners and provide a
basic dog psychology; temperament and behaviour sessions that will teach them
and their dog how to best interact successfully. This also allows us the
ability to work in small group distraction and to teach behaviour management
techniques that are not available in mainstream dog training or puppy
kindergarten sessions. In Kennel Training This training is for busy people who cannot spare the time to train their dog
initially but would like a well-trained companion. We can do from basic
obedience through to advanced security patrol dog levels. This can be done
whilst you holiday and then we provide the handler training on pick up. Home Alert Classes. Home alert classes are designed for people with dogs over which they would like
to gain a greater level of control whilst teaching their dog to offer some
level of alert or alarm which enhances the owner’s personal security without
the risk of high-level of liability. The most cost efficient manner to perform this training is in small group
classes. However private classes are available. I prefer small group classes
for three main reasons:- - People learn to handle their dogs whilst under heavy stimulation distraction
from other dogs and people.
- Dogs learn to have a more outward and sociable attitude in a group.
- It is the most cost-effective way to train your dog to have great control.
This training does not create aggressive dogs or even dogs that our trained to
bite. It is designed to teach dogs to have a very sociable outlook on life
whilst offering a higher level of alert to strangers in given situations such
as in a home environment. We will not teach the dogs to bite in this phase of training but we will teach
them to alert or bark on command and then again to resume a quiet confident
controlled manner once commanded. Obedience classes for dog owners who are retirees or pensioners.. We decided to incorporate this class to offer a better service especially
designed to suit retirees, pensioners and their dogs. We also believe that often this group of people would like to have social
outings with their dogs and this is the way of offering a path to those social
outings with the dogs. The classes are designed to be a little slower paced with many different
techniques specially developed to suit this group of clientele.
The end result will be the same as any other obedience class where the dog and
owner will learn to cooperate in a great working relationship. The exercises be
taught are “heel,” “sit,” “down,” “stand’” and “come” when called. A further
outcome is that the dog can be groomed and safely health checked. As with most of our classes these owners gain a greater relationship between
dog and handler. Usually during the classes people interact with each other and
meet new friends. Obedience classes for female/lady dog owners. We developed this obedience class because we identified a need for ladies to be
able to gain a sound level of control over their family pets. Often ladies are
trying to balance looking after young children and the family as well as pets
so we offer this class to help them gain a greater level of control and
compliance from their family dogs.As ladies form a high percentage of our clientele we purposely offer this
course because often the ladies tend to be the ones who mostly deal with the
dog. The ladies class was also developed from an identified need to have dogs behave
well with children. Our school education programs on dog safety and responsible
pet ownership have highlighted the fact that a huge percentage of Australian
children are being bitten by dogs. Most frequently it is the family dog that
bites. We believe the lady of the house should be empowered in the control of the
family dog. This is a sensible and wise move in helping to reduce dog bite
incidents. The ladies are often at home dealing with both the children and the
dogs throughout the day.
The ladies classes help teach the ladies and their dogs how to form a great
working relationship from basic obedience and simple structure techniques for
home and family life. Dogs and handlers are taught “heeling”, “sitting”, “standing”, “dropping” and
“staying.” The dog is also trained “to come” from a distance. Another outcome
is that the dog is able to be groomed or reliably health checked without a
struggle or manifestation of aggression. __________ Feel free to call us with your questions or enquiries. We're only
